Meaningful and rewarding employment is important to all of us. Orchard Village partners with the local businesses to place the individuals we support in real, ongoing, competitive jobs. Businesses are provided with capable and hard-working employees, and the employees, in turn, feel a sense of accomplishment, belonging, and acceptance by their community. It’s a partnership that works!
Community Integrated Employment Program
Since 1977, Orchard Village has helped people with disabilities find and keep jobs within their communities.
CARF Accreditation was awarded to Orchard Village for our Community-Based Employment Program. CARF accreditation consists of ongoing consultation and in-depth on-site reviews by outside professionals to help our organization provide the highest quality services.
In our program, the Vocational team listens to program participants’ needs, desires, and aspirations before executing a step-by-step career plan for each person. Orchard Village’s support extends from pre-job coaching and job search to job placement and ongoing, on-the-job coaching. In all cases, participants are involved in making their choices.
Our Employment Program offers a comprehensive array of services:
- Job search techniques, resume, and cover letters
- Interviewing skill development and preparation
- Help in finding employment in the community
- Job retention through training and job coaching
- Follow-up services with employers
- Assistance in job accommodations
- Help in defining individual career goals
- Community resource coordination
- Self-advocacy in the workplace
