Sweet Success: Tag Days Raise Funds for a Brighter Future

Burke Scholars at Notre Day Prep School collect on behalf of Orchard Village.
Jackson helps collect for Tag Days bringing smiles to donors!

In September, Orchard Village partnered with the Knights of Columbus Skokie #3243 and Nile #4338 for the annual Tootsie Roll Tag Days. Staff, OV participants, and volunteers collected funds for programs.

Volunteers collected donations and handed out Tootsie Rolls and bookmarks at Jewel-Osco in Niles, Fresh Farms in Niles, and Jimmy John’s in Skokie. Additionally, the Burke Scholars at Notre Dame College Prep School collected on behalf of Orchard Village. The Burke Scholars Program at Notre Dame College Prep provides an inclusive Catholic high school education for young men with mild to moderate cognitive disabilities or significant learning disabilities.

All donations raised during Tootsie Roll Tag Days were generously matched by the Knights of Columbus, doubling the impact of each contribution. These funds directly support the essential services Orchard Village provides, creating opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to thrive, whether through community engagement, skill development, or recreational activities.

A special thank you goes to the incredible volunteers and donors who made this effort possible. Whether you helped collect candy or generously donated, your support plays a crucial role in our mission. We also want to extend thanks to our partners from the Knights Councils of Skokie and Niles for their commitment to making a difference.
