Orchard Village Supported Living Coordinator Eva Kelly recently received the NAQ Spotlight Award, an honor given to outstanding professionals in the developmental disabilities field. Kasey Ornelas, Senior Director of Programs, nominated Eva for the many roles she has had during her 30+ years as an Orchard Village employee. Eva started as a Program Manager in the former Janitorial Training Program through the vocational department. She has also been a respite coordinator, helping families recharge by providing in-home respite care using trained caretakers, as well as a Special Education Teacher at Orchard Academy. Now working in home-based services, Eva assists families and supports clients living at home.
With a background in special education, Eva’s spent her entire career working with people with special needs; she finds joy in ensuring that these individuals’ lives are enriched. She especially enjoys holiday celebrations at Orchard Village. People served, their loved ones, and support teams all come together and mingle and get to know one another. Eva admires the Special Olympics coaches and volunteers and enjoys watching the Orchard Village participants compete and celebrate their achievements. Eva is a mentor to her teammates, a passionate advocate for her clients, and an incredible asset to Orchard Village. She is grateful for the support and recognition she has received from Orchard Village staff and clients throughout the years. We are so proud to have Eva as a part of the Orchard Village family. Congratulations, Eva, and thank you for all that you do!
