In a year marked by uncertainty, Orchard Village was overwhelmed by the consistent generosity of our community. Your contributions help us serve 300 individuals with developmental disabilities to live the lives they want to live and help us meet the pandemic’s challenges. A heartfelt thank you to all who donated to Orchard Village this fall and over the holidays to make the season special.
- This year, many clients celebrated Thanksgiving at their Orchard Village homes. Baird & Warner, Edgebrook donated 21 delicious apple and pumpkin pies and made the holiday a little sweeter for clients who may not have been able to join their families for Thanksgiving.
- Thanks to our outstanding donors on GivingTuesday, December 1, Orchard Village raised over $65,000 on a single day. We surpassed our goal and will use the funds raised to provide clients and staff with the support needed to face daily life during the pandemic.
- With clients sheltering in place and hanging out in their rooms more, we needed to refresh their bedrooms, starting with their beds, bedspreads, and linens. Thanks to donations from Niles Township, D219 Community Relations Team, and Christine Pusateri and Pusateri Hair Solutions employees, clients receive new beds, comforters, pillows, and sheets for a fresh New Year!
- Wonderful donors made clients’ holiday season extra special this year by donating through our holiday Giving Tree. Thank you to the generous parishioners of First Presbyterian Church of Wilmette, the employees at Aetna, and the employees of AT&T, Steve and Sabina Green, and all the individual donors. They fulfilled many clients’ holiday wish lists.
- Yes, Virginia, there isn’t just one Santa Claus – there are many of them. This year, we called for Orchard Village Santas to check out our Amazon Wishlist (once or twice) and donate a needed item or two. The number of gifts we received astounded us. Thank you to all of our Santas!
Although we have been apart this year, we have felt connected through your generosity to Orchard Village’s clients. Thank you, each and every one of you, our magnanimous donors.
