Dear Friends of Orchard Village,
I’m excited to share some Fall 2024 highlights from the vibrant community here at Orchard Village. This autumn season has been filled with celebrations, basketball, community-building activities, and plenty of joy and delight, all thanks to your continued support and commitment to our mission.
Happy ghosts and goblins appeared in our Activity Center during Orchard Village’s annual Halloween Party on October 24. The creativity of program participants and staff was simply amazing. Party-goers donned fantastic costumes, transforming into superheroes, storybook characters, creatures, and even Elvis Presley! The festivities included music, dinner, lively dancing, and of course, lots of treats. The smiles on everyone’s faces reminded us why these social events are so essential. Thank you to the Orchard Village staff and volunteers who helped make the event such a joyful experience for the individuals we serve.
A new annual tradition started this fall with the participants’ Blossoms team vs. the Staff team basketball game. As the Blossoms and Staff teams took to the court, fellow program participants and staff cheered them on from the sidelines. Impressive plays, team camaraderie, and plenty of memorable moments left everyone smiling. More than just a basketball game, this new tradition builds confidence, social skills, and improves their physical health. It was hard to say who had more fun – the program participants on the court or the fans watching from the sidelines. Thank you to the OV Staff and participants for playing!
As the holiday season approaches, Orchard Village is preparing for Giving Tuesday 2024 on December 3. This annual day of giving offers a powerful opportunity for Orchard Village to raise support for our programs. Contributions made on Giving Tuesday allow Orchard Village to continue providing the resources, programs, and personalized care that make a profound impact on the lives of the individuals we serve.
